Concerning: General Comment
Comment: I really appreciate your ministry. You guys are hilarious... and serious
at the same time. I like the way you guys proclaim God's truth with
such "down to earthness" and humility...yet with a touch of humor. Thanks.

Concerning: Faith Alone, PARTS 1-3
Comment: I'm preaching to our inner-city teenagers tomorrow at church and went on the Sermonaudio website to see if they had anything on "Grace". Found your 3 part series on "Faith Alone". It was a really great help. Checked out your website and am adding it to my favorites. Please send the newsletter to me. I'm from --- originally but live in --- now. I'm doing undercover work for CSA. Just kidding. Anyway, hope to stay in touch with you. When I went on the topic page of Sermonaudio I expected to find a couple of hundred sermons on God's Grace. There were hardly any at all. Sure glad I found yours. May God bless you and keep you going.

Concerning: Were Jesus and his Disciples Rich or Poor?
Comment: This message is a necessary lesson for those who believe
in the prosperity gospel instead of THE Gospel. To back their own striving for material wealth, some prosperity gospel pastors claim Jesus himself was rich. Consider Matthew 8:19-20 in its context. The scribe in this passage
said he would follow Jesus WHEREVER he went. Jesus then clearly answered
that he had no place to lay his head. That means, wherever this
scribe would follow Jesus, Jesus would not be able to offer his place of
habitation, for he had none! Simply put, Jesus was not just homeless in
the area he was at in this passage - Jesus was homeless EVERYWHERE! For those who are interested in this topic, please consider listening
to this message. God bless you.

Concerning: Be Content
Comment: Words cannot describe my burning heart and appreciation for the sermon on contentment. Tears filled my eyes as I sat in the cafeteria area in the hospital where my wife is having some minor surgery. Dear brothers, I am from New York City and currently reside in ---. I have recently walked out on a church where I have been a member for nearly ten years. I have never been a member of any church before. I used to run the streets committing crime against society but like the Apostle Paul, I did it ignorantly in unbelief. I was saved in 1997 and immediately joined a church were this false prosperity gospel was preached (among many other damnable doctrines). Just this year I confronted the leadership there (including the pastor) concerning their teaching concerning tithing as a new testament believer. I was told to find a church where there was no tithing and go there. Even though I freely tithed all of my saved life I searched the scriptures and found that I (along with the rest of the so called christian community where I live) was very wrong. To make a long story short, it is the truth of the gospel ( that you guys preach) that I love and no matter what my beliefs or agenda is , I will throw it all away for the truth!!! I love you all very much..!

THE BAD

Concerning: Are Tongues for Today?
Comment: I'm fascinated at how this site and sermons are so
"Anti-Pentecostal". Having been a Baptist/Methodist child, and till
embracing the gift's Paul spoke of in Romans, I've encountered a supernatural
closeness with God. I'm often thinking, everyone who speaks against the
gift's Paul spoke of in the Bible, will probably be accountable before
Jesus on this matter. I'm saddened by the division of Christians, and
how I cannot embrace this sermon or this site because of the preaching
against what Paul spoke of and what we've been granted by the holy
spirit.
Our Response: Doug, thanks for listening none the less... I always go back and listen to my sermons after I receive comments and make sure what I said was Biblical. This is due to the fact that I (like every Christian) am continually growing and as I have grown have found that my position on certain subjects becomes "more informed" or sometimes changes over time and study.
I have not, to this point, seen any reason to see this issue any differently. I am not denying tongues could not possibly occur again... I am saying that MOST of what is calling itself this gift today is false and contrived. For example, the Bible is plain that if there is no interpreter that the person should keep silent. Yet I constantly see people spewing syllables out and it is (a) out of order / confused and (b) no interpretation is ever presented. This is blantantly wrong and against the clear teaching of 1 Corinthians 14.
Again, this gift may occur today... I don't deny that. I do deny that it happens "all the time" and I deny that the person claiming he/she can "conjure" it or "initiate" it at thier own will. I believe that Acts 2, 10, 19 and 1 Cor 14 are clear that the "manifestation" of tongues is a sovereign move of God and the person manifesting the gift was not given warning that it was about to happen (thus it cannot be practiced, etc.).
Also, "tongues" is more or less just the old English word for languages. If you read Acts 2, 10, 19 and 1 Cor 14, inputing "languages" in the place of "tongues", it will make clearer what some of my points are in the sermon.
Anyways, thanks for your comments, I welcome them all, good and bad. I will be happy to examine any new evidence you would like to provide concerning this subject.
PS - I am not sure what "Anti-Pentecostal" means... are you saying I am against Acts 2? Or are you referring to the "denomination" that started with the "Azusa Street Revival"? I am not against Acts 2; however, from what I know about the so-called revival on Azusa Street , it was full of false doctrine and fake gifts. So I would be against that.
