What America Needs To Do!!!
9/11/01 that’s a date that those of us alive and many yet to be
born will never ever forget. Like most of you I stared at my TV screen
through tear soaked eye in disbelief at what I saw. I just couldn’t
understand how someone could hold so much hatred for the USA. Honestly
no one else in the world has it as good as we do here in the USA. Why
is that you ask, well lets take just a very brief look at it because
there is no need to go into great detail of it others have and I will
do so in the future but for now lets just take a brief look.
Our Constitution guarantees us freedom of speech, no other country
in the world hold such a bold guarantee. Not even our closest allies
have such promises in their government documents. As a matter of fact
there are counties in Europe right now where it is illegal speak out
against things that are blatantly anti-biblical like homosexuality.
Yes in some countries today if you read from Leviticus that it is an
abomination for a man to lay with another man as with a woman they will
throw you in jail. And remember one other thing there are elements in
this county that want it that way here aswell. Remember Christian its
our responsibility to make sure our rights don’t get stepped on.
We must make sure that we don’t allow the heathen world to drive
out our right to freedom of religion and freedom of speech. This is
a pressing problem but it is not what I am here to speek to you about
tonight.
Yes as Americans we need to make sure that we protect our rights but
that’s not what America really needs to do. No other place on
the planet are men and women given assurities that they will be able
to pursue life liberty and happiness like they are in the USA. Why is
that you ask well it’s simply because as the bible says in 2Corinthians
3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is liberty.
Now I know some people like to argue that this isn’t nor was
it ever a Christian nation. I’ll tell you that only because it
is a Christian or at the bare minimum a Christian/Bible founded country
do we have the freedoms that we hold so dear. I have heard many people
try and explain this away that our founding fathers weren’t actually
Christian they were theists or deists or what ever other religion they
like to throw in. This simply isn’t the truth, and I shall quote
the greatest of the founding fathers, General and First President George
Washington
“While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens
and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher
duties of religion. To the distinguished character of patriot, it should
be our highest glory to laud the more distinguished character of Christian.
The signal instance of Providential goodness which we have experienced
and which have now almost crowned our labors with complete success demand
from us in a peculiar manner the warmest returns of gratitude and piety
to the Supreme Author of all good.”
These word were spoken by General Washington on May 2, 1778 at Valley
Forge during one of the darkest hours of his life he spoke with such
love for the Lord and the blessings that he had received. Suffering
from extreme cold lack of food and clothing he could still speak with
such love about the character of being a Christian and the need to thank
God for everything. Now I don’t want hear anything more about
George Washington not being a Christian there you see that he himself
said he was.
Now knowing that our founding fathers were Christian and most obviously
would have read their bibles and used them as a basis for the Constitution.
They prayed they asked the Lord’s blessing on the work of their
hands and if we know this then we know something else. “where
the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” If ever again you
wonder where our great liberties came from now you know! How important
is liberty? Well I shall echo the sentiment of another of our founding
fathers one that I have always thought a great deal of Patrick Henry.
Speaking to the Virginian Convention on March 23, 1775 he said, “Is
life so dear or peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains
and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others
may take, but as for me give me liberty or give me death.” The
value of liberty didn’t not escape Patrick Henry as it shouldn’t
any of us. It was purchased with the price of the blood of our ancestors
on the field of battle as our Salvation was purchased with the Blood
of Jesus on the cross at Calvary. Yes we must make sure we defend and
protect our hard won liberties but even that is not what America must
do.
To find out what it is that must be done we must look, as always, to
the Word of Almighty God.
Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous
therefore, and repent.
Revelation 2:16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and
will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
Matthew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness
of Judaea,
2 And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent:
for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mark 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God
is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 6:12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.
Are you starting to see a trend here? If not lets look at a few more
verses of scripture.
Ezekiel 14:6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the
Lord God; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away
your faces from all your abominations.
Ezekiel 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every
one according to his ways, saith the Lord God. Repent, and turn yourselves
from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed;
and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house
of Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the
Lord God: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Still wondering what America needs to do? I’ll sum it up in a
word, REPENT!!! America needs to turn back from its idols, money and
fame and power anything that comes before God is an idol and idol worshiping
is strictly prohibited in the Bible. America needs to repent.
First we allowed the minority to dictate how our children are taught
in school. It’s not right to pray in school? I prayed in school
I never had a problem with it and I am here to tell you that this was
a strike against America.
Next we listened to society tell us that we shouldn’t punish
our children that it stifled their creativity blah blah blah. Im sorry
but yet another strike. Now we stand on the edge of a great precipice,
they want to take God out of the pledge, what next the Constitution
and then we let them change the bill of right and then Christians wont
have any rights there already trying to take them away the devil would
like nothing else than to trash our God given rights, Once again where
the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. If Satan can get us to stop
worshiping God in spirit as we should, guess whats going to happen then.
The bible is specific on what is going to happen to a country that turns
its back on God.
Jeremiah 18:10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice,
then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
Deuteronomy 31:16 And the Lord said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt
sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring
after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among
them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with
them.
17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will
forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured,
and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say
in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not
among us?
18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which
they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
Notice the end of verse 17, Are not these evils come upon us because
our God is not among us? Now lets look at our track record as Christian
Americans and ask ourselves if God is among us. Do we kid ourselves
that by allowing ourselves to be pushed around by the atheists that
shout and scream that they are offended when we pray in the name of
Jesus. Do you really think that this makes God happy with us? I would
have to echo the words of Franklin Graham here, “Im a Christian
how am I supposed to pray” I refuse to pray to any other god simply
because it makes sinners nervous to hear the name Jesus as a matter
of fact I’ll go step further and say that I shall make an effort
to say the name Jesus more so they feel even more nervous. This world
is lost and on it way to hell and only Jesus can save it.
If we neglect to tell it about Jesus, then we deny our Saviour who
died for us. We should never allow this to happen. Jesus would never
condone us backing down on the Gospel. He Himself preached Repent and
believe the gospel. He never never never never pulled any punches He
told it straight every time. He warned us that we would have tribulation
He warned us that the devil would seek to take our lives. Think that’s
out of the question take a look at Sudan and Indonesia and the Middle
East where Christians are persecuted everyday for their beliefs. These
people put there lives on the line everyday to say that they wont bend
to someone else’s will and refuse to worship any other way than
how God wants them too. And they don’t have laws protecting them,
as a matter of fact thousands of them are killed every year.
Here in the USA we do have laws to protect us and we sit by and watch
them slowly taken away. It’s the devils masterpiece really it
is. Lets just lull them to sleep and they wont notice that were taking
them away slowly and we’ll twist the laws and change a little
here and a little there and next thing you know our freedoms are gone
and we did nothing to stop it. Think its not happening do nothing and
see.
Now is our time to take a stand and let our voice be heard. For years
this was recognized as a Christian nation and if you go to the Middle
East they still look at us as a Christian Nation. How can we in good
faith allow lost people to take away the things that God gave us and
then turn around and complain to Him that they are gone, I don’t
think so. America needs to repent and turn back to what we were established
as a Christian nation.
Let me quote one of the other founding fathers, one that by reputation
is not very often looked upon as a Christian. Maybe he was maybe he
wasn’t I didn’t personally know the man, but I do know that
he is a focal point of a lot of atheist’s and the like today to
prove that the founding fathers weren’t Christian, which I have
already shown you wasn’t true. Benjamin Franklin, speaking to
the Constitutional Convention on the occasion that squabbling and bickering
among the states had caused the convention to grind to a halt and nothing
was being accomplished. At this point in history the fact is that this
convention was looked at by many as a last chance to keep the fledgling
country together.
“In the beginning of the contest with Britain when we were sensible
of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for Divine protection. Our
prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of
us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances
of a superintending providence in our favour….and have we now
forgotten this powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His
assistance?
I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing
proofs I see of this truth: ‘that God governs in the affairs of
man.’ And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice,
is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?
I therefore beg leave to move that, henceforth, prayers imploring the
assistance of Heaven and its blessings on our deliberations be held
in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business.”
I would have to say that after witnessing the liberties that were protected
and granted by the Constitution that once again God heard the prayers
of our founding fathers. As was true of the Revolutionary war, since
after all we were out numbered and out matched. Britain had a well-trained
well-fed professional army and we had militia starving and out numbered
with little or no training. And miraculously we won. I won’t dare
say that it was any of our own doing I am almost positive that God had
a hand in it. You yourself can believe what you like on the manner but
I know my God is gracious.
Gracious enough to send His only begotten Son to die for each and everyone
of us, to think that He guided the hands of our founding father when
they wrote the Constitution is not very hard for me. Yes its not perfect
that is plainly obvious but it is the best form of government that mankind
has come up with yet.
But you see over time things change, no America has never been perfect
but at one time we did hold a certain moral standard that was higher
than that of the rest of the world. Why do you ask, simply because we
kept God at the front and we read our bibles. Now at no time since the
constitution was written has any other religious group been persecuted
by the government it hasn’t happened. You can worship what ever
or whomever you chose here that’s a promised right that you have
as an American. Now yes I know that certain fanatics or lets call them
as they really are knut cases have tried to infringe upon other peoples
rights to worship our country has never condoned such mockery of justice
and I pray to God that it never will.
However sometime in the twentieth century things began to change party
because of things that had happened before. A loosening of moral fibers
was undertaken, not in a frontal assault but by people who spoke as
though they were acting for the good of people. Spawned from such people
as Madam Helena P. Blavatsky, who is now called the godmother of the
new age movement. Im sorry but the new age movement is not of God is
heretical down to it very core and its precepts stand against the teachings
of the bible. Men like Wescott and Hort who rewrote the bible to there
spiritualistic standards and behind the scenes were much in agreement
with Blavatsky who by the way was the editor of Lucifer magazine, ever
heard that name before?
In Europe where these people were there ideas flourished quite quickly
but it took time for them to reach America. For the moment America was
still a KJV bible believing country and because of it, its moral fiber
held. But slowly as the modern day versions crept in, all by the way
translated in English from Wescott and Horts corrupted Greek manuscripts
not the Greek Received Text and Latin Textus Receptus that the KJV came
from. Slowly at first these ideas crept into the US not received well
but then something happened.
Large numbers of young impressionable men left our soil to go to Europe
twice once in the 1910’s, or in other words WW1 and then again
in the 1940’s or WW2. Now let me say that I don’t have anything
personally against Europeans that is not my point I don’t blame
them for our problems they don’t have ours they have problems
of there own. We are to blame for ours, I am simply trying to state
a few simple facts here. We see after WW2 a loosening of the moral fabric
of America on a much larger scale after. And I am certainly not picking
on Veterans I myself am one veteran of the US Navy the son of A US Marine
the Grandson of a WW2 Vet of the Navy. I can never thank them enough
for what they did for the US and the World for that matter when they
went to Europe to fight for the cause of freedom. So don’t get
me wrong Im certainly not attacking them.
What I am saying is some European ideas came back from that war and
people started listening to people like Benjamin Spock. Who told them
contrary to what the bible says that they should spare the rod. And
some listened. Now Modern day bible translations began to pick up and
fewer and fewer people were using a KJV. Then things began to happen
like in 1962 Engel v. Vital the US Supreme Court made the daily recitation
of prayer in public schools illegal by stating that it was unconstitutional.
Along with other such damaging things such as the sexual revolution.
I read just a portion of one such book which dealt with teaching children
about sexuality and I myself a 27 years old veteran and redeemed sinner
of many disgusting sins felt defiled just from having read a single
paragraph from it. I wont name it here simply because I don’t
wish anyone else to suffer the same internal defilement that I did.
Here we see the nation slipping away from the bible and the things
that God wants for us to do. Then another crushing blow to what is right
in 1972 Roe v. Wade made it legal to murder innocent children. And rest
assured there is no sugar coating abortion it is straight out of the
most sick and depraved pits of hell. Just check on Norma McCorvey who
was the Roe of Roe v. Wade, she changed her mind on abortion and now
states that she is pro-life she even went on to state that the lawyer
in the case deceived her on many details of the case. Aint it like the
devils crowd to do that.
Stone v. Graham 1980, The Court struck down a state law requiring public
schools to post the Ten Commandments. Wallace v Jaffree 1985 A state
law requiring a moment of “meditation or voluntary prayer”
was struck down as an establishment of religion because the intent of
the legislature was deemed to be religious rather then secular. And
the trend continued, the secular world wanted God out of our schools
and since our moral fibers had been loosened up for this it happened
because there were very few who spoke out against it. And things like
the innocence of children and the need to teach them right from wrong
were twisted and tinkered with. The fact is that only 4 percent of our
population in America today claim to be atheist and out of the 96 percent
who claim a religion 64 percent say that it is very important in there
lives. Huh seems to me like the court is catering to a few people instead
of looking at the facts, because they certainly haven’t looked
at history. Of course we learn from history that we don’t learn
from history and the streak goes on.
All the while now every home has a TV and Im not saying that this is
necessarily a bad thing however now the loosening of morals can pick
up speed and sin is fed into our homes and parents now having been raised
to think that no one needs to stay at home with the children now leave
them with daycare and someone else teaches them right from wrong and
unfortunately more times than not this isn’t being taught how
God wants it to be taught. Children spend hours each day infront of
the TV instead of being read to from the bible.
Now I don’t think I need to touch the issue but the TV doesn’t
teach our children what the Bible teaches. Now I know that there are
bible TV networks but honestly even they are riddled with secular undertones
as there programmers seek more and more for the buck instead of spreading
the truth. Now we have a generation of children who spend more time
infront of the TV soaking in the morals of TV programmers and less and
less of what God said for them to learn from the Bible. How can I speak
in such a way, I am one of those children or at least I was. I don’t
fault my parents so much as to say all of my mistakes are because of
something they should have taught me. And God’s knows that sometimes
both parents’ have to work believe me I understand that too. But
when it is done for the simple reason of having a bigger house or a
newer car and the education and care of the children is neglected for
the pursuit of money then we have big problems.
We can look back 50 years and compare it to today. How many single
parent homes were there then compared to now? I dare say the numbers
are staggering without even really looking at them. Why is that do you
ask, well why do you think? We no longer teach our boys how God wants
a man to act we allow them to watch TV and see how Hollywood thinks
they should act. Dare I say the two aren’t even remotely close.
So now we have a generation of children growing up without a father
because they weren’t taught how to be one.
Now this doesn’t take the slack of the women either, instead
of telling them that they should wait to have sex until they are married
they see TV’s example of loose living and promiscuous sex. Men
are just as guilty of this as women. The result??????
More broken homes more children up for adoption than ever before, and
more abortions, funny how the devils crowd slipped that option in right
as it was going to be useful to them isn’t it. The devil is very
slick and if you’re not paying attention he can fool you. So now
that TV rules at home and the children aren’t hearing about God
in school anymore either where are they going to? Church? Sadly this
isn’t so. Yes Church is awesome and it should be a major influence
in our lives but the fact it the role of the Church in society has been
downplayed by the liberal powers that be. As a matter of fact many churches
today now go for the popular message instead of what is true. God help
us when even the Church doesn’t stand for the truth anymore.
Thankfully this isn’t always the case, many Churches still stand
for the truth of the Gospel of Christ and try to reach out to a lost
world. With things like the Bus ministry where they go out and pick
up the local Children for church every Sunday when there parents wont
bring them. I myself can speak of a Church that picks up a couple hundred
children every Sunday for church and goes out and witnesses to people
door to door at least once a week. God has blessed this church greater
than any I have ever personally been in and I have felt the Holy Spirit
of God move there like never before. But outside this church who does
nothing but stand for the truth and try to teach the children and adults
alike the truth there are those that hate it and curse it. Why do they
do such things well the answer is simple really Jesus gave it in John
Chapter 3.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to
the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
Simply America has come to the point where the darkness is popular
and the light no longer is. To say the name Jesus in public is to bring
upon yourself criticism and outcries that you are offending someone
because you don’t respect there religion. Hmm funny how the only
reason they have the right to practice theirs is because this is a country
founded on the precept of God/Jesus’s Word.
True Christians never force anyone to believe the way they do. Notice
I say true Christians because false chrisitans have done so in the past
and they did not following the teachings of Christ in doing so. But
it seems odd that everybody else is offended when we invoke the name
of our Redeemer but it’s quite alright for them to pray in whatever
name they wish. Once again the truth is being stepped on. And God will
only take so much before He has no choice but to act.

God says clearly here that if America does evil in His sight that He
will repent of the good that He said He would benefit us. For years
this has been a blessed nation no one can argue that it hasn’t.
In just over 200 years this has become the most prosperous and powerful
nation on the planet. Some countries have been around for over a thousand
years and haven’t achieved what we have. You cant stand by and
say that that is all luck, God had a hand in it rest assured. But if
we don’t turn from the evil road that our country has started
down the news is not good.
We have loosened our morals and taken prayer to God out of schools
taken His Commandments down off the walls, not taught our children right
from wrong and then we wonder and cry out why God when things like Columbine,
Colorado happen. Im sorry it was terrible thing orchestrated by none
other than the Devil himself but it never happened when our Children
were lead each morning in prayer. Children used to be able to go to
school without anything more than the fear of the local bully but that
is no longer the case. Now many of them live under a constant threat
of violence, this was not what God intended for our Children to go through.
America we have no one to blame but ourselves for this. The bad news
is if we don’t turn from this course rest assured that the wrath
of God will fall on us heavily. And as our internal fibers fail so do
our external ones. Once we were a nation that stood for something now
we look to the world as a lazy decadent bunch. We have done great things
for the world but the truth is what is in the past is in the past and
now we find ourselves faced with yet another enemy. This one has no
honor as some of our past have. Communism was and is a system straight
out of hell but of the Russian people that we stood against for so many
years I will say that they were a people of honor at least if not more.
The Germans of WW2 while they were deceived by a most hideous monster
like Hitler were at least a people of some honor as were the Japanese.
These terrorist care nothing for honor they only wish to enforce their
will and the will of their violent religion on the rest of the world.
Yes it is a religion of violence and it bares no similarity with Christianity
when the two are set side by side. The Koran teaches that it is ok to
use force to spread Islam while the Bible says. Romans 12:18 If it be
possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Tell me where Islam is even close to this, the facts are it isn’t.
Now Im not saying that all Muslims are warmongers and generally hateful
people but the fact still remains that Islam is not a religion of peace
as it claims to be. The very fundamentals of what America stands for
was attacked September 11th 2001. There will be only one victor in the
final outcome of such things and that Victor will be God Almighty stand
strong on that fact.
The only way we as America can win with God is to be on His side there
will be no middle ground in the end there is no such thing as a gray
area concerning God either your with Him or against Him.
Today I tell you that America is not with God. You may not like it
you may not agree with it but it’s the truth. We have taken Him
out of our schools we have stopped teaching our children about Him and
His love for the world and we have suffered for doing so. Crime is at
an all time high moral depravity has never been so sickening and blatantly
apparent. Yet as bleak as things appear there is still hope but only
if we turn back to the Word as we should.
Jeremiah 18:8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn
from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto
them.
We must repent not just as individuals but as a nation. If we continue
to allow the minority to speak for us and run out all the Christian
morals that were fought prayed and worked so hard for then we shall
as a nation lose. Sadly there can be no other way. Almighty God cannot
look upon sin and if America doesn’t repent of its sins He will
no longer look upon it.
So I say to America as Jesus said to the people that He preached to,
Repent before it is to late. Repent and believe the Gospel. The same
Gospel that our founding fathers believed so much in that they based
the laws of our young country upon its precepts and prayed for God to
watch over it.
I wont sit here and tell us all to pray for God to bless America, He
already has, now I say pray that God would have mercy on America and
grant this country the same grace that was granted to each of us as
an individual when Christ died for us on the Cross at Calvary, a saving
grace.
I could say a lot of things now but I think its best that I close with
the words of our greatest founding father and his earnest prayer to
God Almighty for his and our country. I second it with all my heart
and plead that God Almighty in the name of Jesus head George Washington’s
prayer.
Almighty God; we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United
States in Thy holy protection; that Thou wilt incline the hearts of
the citizens to cultivate a spirit of subordination and obedience to
government; and entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another
and for their fellow citizens of the United States at large. And finally
that Thou wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice,
to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility and
pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine
author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose
example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation. Grant
our supplication, we bessech Thee, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.”
Lord I pray that you remember the prayer of our brother now in our
dark hour and beg that You forgive us our transgressions against You
Lord. I thank You God Almighty that You loved us enough to send Your
only Son Jesus to die in payment for our sins Father and I beg that
You forgive us now and grant us the strength to stand for what is right
and help others to the light that is Jesus Christ our Lord and Redeemer.
And it is in the name of our Saviour I humbly pray to You this day September
11th 2002. The name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
