This
page is to share with you some of the tools we use in "producing" the Radio Show and what we use to Study...

Radio Show Stuff
Equipment seen here... (more pics below)
Powerbook G4 12", 1.5 GHz Macintosh Laptop (using "Garageband" to record the show);
Alesis MultiMix8 USB 8 Channel Mixer;
Samson Audio C03 Multi-pattern Condenser Microphone with Samson Audio Spider-style Shock Mount and Radio Shack desktop microphone stand;
Samson Audio Four Channel Mini Headphone Amplifier;
Onkyo TA-RW244 Stereo Cassette Deck;
an old Peavey microphone;
2 XLR cables, 1/4" cable, RCA connector cable;
Philips SBC-HP170 Stereo Headphones.
This is all the equipment we use to record the show! These aren't the best pics good enough to get the point I hope. We use the Samson microphone on the "figure 8" setting to record me and Jason. We use the Peavey microphone set next to my cell phone with the speakerphone on to get Mike G's voice. These two mics connect to the Alesis Mixer via the XLR cables. On the Mixer we set the audio output levels that go out to the Powerbook G4 Laptop and Onkyo Cassette Deck. The RCA cable goes to the Cassette Deck (from the Mixer) and the USB cable from the Alesis goes to the Powerbook where the show is recorded (on b oth formats at the same time) and mixed down in Garageband. When we are finished recording the show the audio files are exported to iTunes where they can be burned to a CD or uploaded to the website via Dreamweaver. Also, an Alexis 1/4" output is used to connect to the Headphone amp so Jason and I (and up to 2 other people) can hear what is being recorded. These are the basics, if you want to know more details, let us know.
We used to do the show with a Griffin iMic and some jury-rigging on my "Windows Machine". This is a much cheaper option but the sound quality is also much less. The iMic is an external sound card that connected with my laptop via USB.

Computer
Stuff - I use a MacIntosh PowerBook G4 12", 1.5 GHz, 512 RAM. My home computer is a Mac Mini, 1.5 GHz, 512 RAM. Both have the Mac OS, "Tiger".
Software - "Macsword" and the "Bible Reader" (from Hiddenfield Software) are great free Bible software programs for Mac. I use both. I also bought the "QuickVerse for Mac, Whitebox Edition" just to see how good it works on a Mac. It's pretty good. All three of these programs have thier strengths and "weaknesses". I probably use Quickverse the most. I am waiting for Logos for Mac to come out!!!
Online Bibles - There is also a really good online KJV at the University of Michigan's website. Occasionally I will use BlueLetterBible.com as well.
Web Browsers - I guess anything you like will do... I generally use the Mac OS browser, "Safari". I have also been known to use Firefox and Opera. All three basically have the same features now (Tabbed browsing, etc.).
Word Processing - I use Microsoft Word 2004 for Mac. Although if you don't want to shell out your hard-earned $$$ on "Office for Mac Student Edition", I found a good FREE program online. It's called "AbiWord" and it's free to download and use. It is a lot like Microsoft Word and will open any kind of file around (Word Perfect, Word, etc.). You can also save doc's you create in AbiWord as Word or Word Perfect files.
The Blog - For our articles blog we use Blogger.com and our daily weblog was "free" with my web host package. It is a "Wordpress" blog. There are tons of free blogs out there, I one is about as good as the other.
If I can think of anything else I use to study, I'll post it here.
